Why Organise an Author Visit?
Stories have been a way to pass the time and communicate important messages for as long as humans could speak. We all have stories to tell and share. And what better way is there to remind children that they can tell their stories than to meet someone who tells stories everyday.
Meeting an author provides the perfect opportunity to ask about where story ideas come from, how characters are created and about the publication process. With unique programs designed for children from preschool to upper primary, I am able to inspire, educate, and entertain a wide range of future writers and artists. Check out the program options below.
Program Options
Option 1 (Suitable for all ages)
An interactive reading of one of the Sneaky Universe picture books or an excerpt a longer title, followed by question time. This session is approximately 30 minutes.
Option 2 (Suitable for Kindergarten/Grade Prep/Foundation)
A session that is approximately 1 hour in length which includes pre-reading questions about the book, an interactive telling of a story, some post-reading discussion which addresses the following curriculum points ACELA1432, ACELA1433, ACELA1786, ACELT1575, ACELY1646 or VCELA142, VCELA145, VCELT148, VCELY174, an opportunity for students to ask questions and a colouring or craft activity related to the story read.
Option 3 (Suitable for Grade 1)
A session that is approximately 1 hour in length which includes pre-reading questions about the book, an interactive telling of a story, some post-reading discussion which addresses the following curriculum points ACELA1449, ACELT1832, ACELY1661 or VCELA190, VCELT193, VCELY194 an opportunity for students to ask questions and an activity where students create an animal character and create a short picture book with a template that tells a story about an animal exploring there home.
Option 4 (Suitable for Grade 2)
A session that is approximately 1 hour in length which includes pre-reading questions about the book, an interactive telling of a story, some post-reading discussion which addresses the following curriculum pointsACELA1464, ACELA1465, ACELT1589, ACELT1833, ACELY1671, ACELY1672 or VCELA224, VCELA225, VCELT242, VCELT229, VCELY230, VCELY231, an opportunity for students to ask questions and an activity where students create an animal character, draft a short narrative and create a short picture book with a template that tells a story about an animal exploring there home.
Option 5 - Writer's Workshop: The Very Short Story (Suitable for Grades 3-6)
A session that is approximately 1 hour in length during which an interactive slideshow about the evolution of storytelling leading up to a student activity where each student will produce their own illustrated very short story. There will of course time for questions. Please reach out for a full list of curriculum points addressed by this workshop.
Option 6 - Writer's Workshop: Narrative and Picture Books (Suitable for Grades 3-6)
A session that is approximately 1 hour in length during which an interactive slideshow about the evolution of storytelling leading up to a student activity where each student will write, edit and illustrate a picture book using a template. There will of course time for questions. Please reach out for a full list of curriculum points addressed by this workshop.
Fees
For a single session (up to 1 hour) - $10 per student minimum charge $250.00
A half day (up to 2.5 hours, 2 sessions) with groups up to 25 students per session/workshop at $10 per student minimum charge $500.00 - Sessions are to run consecutively or with no more than one-hour break between them.
A full day (up 3.5 hours, 3 sessions) with groups up to 25 students per session/workshop at $10 per student minimum charge $750.00
Participation and Achievement certificates will be made available for all students.

Why Fundraise with Sneaky Universe?
It is a sugar-free, fun and educational fundraising idea. It will help encourage reading for pleasure, thinking and communication skills as well as giving your students a selection of other activities including craft, colouring and movement.
It's as easy as
1. Receive your complimentary fundraising kit.
2. Hold your own Sneaky Puss Goes Exploring theme day to launch your fundraiser.
3. Earn 15% commission on the sale of the products purchased by your community.
How does it work?
Our program is designed to be a simple and fun solution to the normally painful process of fundraising. Reach out to us info@sneakyuniverse.com to let us know and we will contact you and help you make your fundraiser a success. You can combine the fundraiser with an author visit (fees apply) to launch your event or just let your community know that any purchases they make from the Sneaky Universe store within you campaign timeframe will contribute funds to your fundraiser. That is it, we will do the rest! After your sale period closes, we fulfil all the orders, deliver the clearly labelled individual parcels to you for pick up and then we deposit your commission directly into your nominated organisation account.
How much can we expect to raise?
You will receive a 15% commission from each item purchased. That is $15 for every $100 dollars raised. There are many items available at a range of price points. So, there is bound to be something for everyone.

How do we sign up to start a fundraiser?
Click here and enter the contact details for your organisation. Once submitted we will contact you and discuss how we can help you make your fundraiser a success and send you some promotional materials.
What do we earn ?
You will earn a 15% commission on the sale of any products featured in your custom fundraising store.
How long does the fundraiser last?
As long as you like, though usually 1-2 weeks from your launch will give you enough time to make sales and get you your commission in a timely manner. Once your orders and money are in, you can expect a delivery of the products (all individually packed for each sale) and your 15% commission within 10 business days.
How do we receive our commission?
Your commission will be paid directly into an approved account for your organisation within 10 business days after all your orders and payments are received.
What marketing materials do you provide?
We provide a range of digital files including posters and images which you can use on your website, social media accounts and newsletters to help you promote your fundraiser.

Already have a book you are ready to publish but not sure how? Let us help you independently publish it. You own the copyright because you’ll be the one publishing it, but we can show you how to do it. If needed, we can organise illustrations, format your manuscript and cover files and then walk you through the process of publishing your book including buying and assigning ISBNs, uploading files for print books on Ingram Spark and ebooks on Amazon.
